How do you stop overpopulation in a humane way? It is easy to pretend it is not a problem, especially when you live in Saskatchewan, but it really is. My mom is in Vietnam right now on a special travel agent trip. She just sent an e-mail saying she is not impressed with Vietnam. She says the people are nice, but the smoke/smog!!! She said she can't see the blue sky and the amount of traffic is unbelievable. My mom has been to a lot of heavily populated countries, but this is the first time she has ever commented on it being such a huge problem. It saddens me.

One of my favorite comedians, George Carlin, recently said that the world is fine, its us people that have a problem. What are we doing to this planet? Why are we allowing corporations to ruin our environment because they are required by law to put maximum profit above evrything, including people and our future. Do I feel sorry for the rich people in Califormia who built houses on the side of a mountain and have now lost them to fire? Absolutuely not. It is a mountain, leave it as such. I am also disgusted that they have received such quick help from Bush. The new Orleans flood affected poor black people. It is still a disaster area! Bush turned his back on them, purposely. Corporations are turning their back on the future. We, as humans have also turned our back on the future. I hope we can make a difference, and everybody can change ways, before it is too late.

I will definitely be at the non-nuclear event this Sunday. Thanks for the advice and info!

Cheers,

LarissaLarissa Shaskohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03783852070253483648noreply@blogger.com
